What We Cover
From Seed to Sprout is a totally customizable private class. This is how classes are usually organized, but there is always room for adjustments and creativity!
Class 1
In our first session together we will focus on pregnancy, gathering your care team, and preparing for labour.
Class 2
In our second session we dive into birth in depth! This is where we will discuss the stages of labour, comfort measures and coping techniques.
Class 4
Our fourth session is all about postpartum; the immediate postpartum, physical recovery, and transitioning into parenthood. We will also discuss newborn care.
Class 3
In our third session we explore common interventions during labour, cesarean birth, and partner support.
Class 5
Our final class will focus on infant feeding; exploring all the different options for feeding a baby, as well as the longer term postpartum and baby care.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Nope! Anyone is welcome to take my classes. I use inclusive language like “birthing person” in my educational material, and will always mirror the language you use about yourself and your family.
-
Perhaps you have a specific learning style you’d like me to cater to, or specific topics you would like included or excluded. For example, if you are having a planned cesarean a traditional group class might not be the right fit, but we can do a deep dive into your birth! Add-on topics in the past have included: inducing lactation, parenting with more than two parents, and more!
-
Since this class can be totally customized to meet your needs, the base price includes the standard curriculum, and price may vary for a class with significantly more, or less, material.

It depends! Some folks like to plan way ahead and take this class during their second trimester. For some, they’d prefer to have their information closer to birth. For reference, I like to have folks wrap up classes by 35/36 weeks so they have time to integrate their new knowledge before baby arrives.
-
How exciting! I offer semi-private classes for folks who would like to learn together.

In our standard perinatal healthcare systems such a big emphasis is placed on birth, and the postpartum period is often overlooked. I believe in preparing people for the time period after birth just as much (if not more!) than for birth itself. Birth is a temporary, one time event, and I want you to feel just as prepared to transition into parenthood, caring for a newborn, and feeding that baby as you are to birth them.
